Nightvision

Who the hell decided we should be able to see at night? and when I think about it, whenever someone is using nightvision, they're being evasive. So is nightvision only for fighting? what other instances would nightvision be used? Maybe if there were some good things that could come out of nightvision then I wouldn't care so much. But as far as I know, there isn't any so to hell with nightvision. and why is it always green? why can't it be blue? or red? Green's my favorite color but there has to be some explanation to why it's green and not purple.
